We had a great time at the convention, but we picked up more than two bags of books while we were there.... the novel 2009 H1N1 influenza, aka swine flu. (Gwen works in a clinic and testing her for the virus was mandatory.)

Gwen was already getting ill by the time we got back, and soon I was hacking and wheezing too. She stayed home on Tuesday; I worked for about a day and a half before I packed it in and took to the sickbed.

For the past week, we've subsisted mostly on tea, soup, and Lean Pockets. There was very little fruit consumed, although we did have cherry-flavored lozenges and orange-flavored Delsym. Plus, there were Popsicles.

We're still not back to our usual diet, since Gwen, who usually does the cooking, hasn't had the energy to cook. I've tried to pick up items that were easy to prepare, since I knew who might be doing it.

I haven't exercised since Wednesday. I did one of the Swimsuit Bootcamp videos this morning, which wasn't very strenuous or aerobic. I want to be sure that I'm really better, though, before I start pushing myself.

Hope you two are feeling a lot better, I just got my shot yesterday, there is so much controversy over the needle, I was very nervous getting it!

Here in Coronation we have it too They were busy giving our vacanations all day yesterday but the bug is already in town. By 5:30 they had run out! Walter already has a bug; head and chest cold so it's already in the house. SO there is no use in him having it. And I've had flu shots almost every year and never had a reaction of any kind. This year I chose not too take it. I had live cell treatment done years back and ever since it's like I'm ammune to most things! The live shark embryo keeps it at bay! The last time I had a mild anything was four years ago. Had a few sniffles.

Glad to hear that your both pulling through it.
Miserable as it is, at least you don't have to worry about getting it anymore!
    Get well soon!

I have been told since that there were over 1700 people, so odds were we would be exposed to something while we were there. The host site had hand sanitizers stationed around the meeting areas, and we were warned not to shake hands, so they did TRY to do what they could to protect us.

Thanks for the flowers and well-wishes.

Flowers to both of you. Doesn't sound like much fun, but hope it leaves completely real soon. Would be interesting to know just how many people went home from the convention and got sick. Take it easy and get back to good health.
