Slowing down and need to find motivation
Thursday, October 22, 2009
I started the program with my wife's encouragement and have found Sparkpeople.com a great place to be. By the end of the first week I lost four pounds, was walking on the treadmill consistently and keeping up with my food and exercise journal. I felt good and had more energy. It was great.
This week has been a lot different and I'm slowing down and need to find motivation. Self-control has been lacking -- way to many cookies, donuts and kolachies around at work. Sugar is my weakness! There are two times of the day I continually fight hunger. Mid-afternoon when I'm at work. Then late evening after supper when I can feel full from supper but still feel like I need something to eat or to feel satisfied.
My lovely wife is a big help but not always there to slap my hand as I reach for the plate of cookies at work. So I'm wondering, where everyone else finds that bit of motivation when the hunger pangs hit and the tummy growls for just one more bite? How do you sit your goals so that they motivate you for success? What goals do you have that are more then just a number on the scale?
I appreciate all the help ... you all are great!
