Shocking Weight Gain

I weighed myself today and I weighed in at 176. Last week I weighed in at 172. What the heck? Did i really gain 4lbs in a few days?? I'm hoping this is water weight. Maybe I'm retaining water?? Well, I'm NOT okay with that and I'm going to work EXTRA hard to get back on track!!

    That happened to me last week, I was at 162 and when I weighed in I was so ashamed to see the scale at 164.4 that I didn't even enter it into my diary, however, I do believe that the mistake I made was that I didn't drink my 8 glasses of water and this week I made sure to drink that and more and I still have to weigh in tomorrow but I already did a sneak peek weigh in today and let me just say that I am down. So, water is an important factor in weight loss, I truly believe that now. Just don't give up, although I felt like that, but I watched Biggest Loser and that inspired me to continue and not give up on myself just because of a silly little set back as this is a life style change, and I must learn to commit 100% to this change for the rest of my life.

    I believe its water too- but PUSH yourself- thats what I am doing! I too have gained- what I hope to be water (LOL) but I am for sure drinking a TON of water (1 gallon a day) and really pushing myself with cardio!!!

    i get that too, i believe it to be water weight as i can get it rid of it fairly easily with just increasing my exercise a bit...GOOD LUCK!!

    Have you been doing a lot of exercise and developing muscle? Muscle weighs more than fat so if you are developing muscle you will see a weight gain. Also have you been under a lot of stress. Stress can cause weight gain also. I know from the week that my dad passed away. I was eating close to the lower end of my calorie range and I still gained 7 pounds that week. This weight gain was from the stress of dad's passing and a lot of other things going on because of it. There are many things that can be playing into this weight gain including the time of day that you are stepping on the scale. If one weight was taken in the morning and the other in the evening there will be a difference in the weight because of the food and drink that you have consumed during the day. Keep a log of what you are doing, when you are weighing in, what you are eating and look that over to see if there is anything that can be causing the weight gain. You might also want to keep track of your stress levels during this time.
