Today's Walk with the Fab Four

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

I have an Internet friend who sends me songs in the form of WAVs and this weekend, he sent me a bunch of Beatles songs. It was so cool, the day was beautiful, and I walked along singing along (under my breath, I hope - I'm not really a singer.) My friend has a Limewire program that enables him to legally find songs and then send them to anyone who wants them. Then I copy the songs to my Blackberry and arrange them in Playlists. I'm not sure I'm doing the copying in the most efficient way, but it does get done, so that's all that matters. I love 60s and 70s music the best, and that's what I listen to the most. But I do enjoy some 50s Doo-Wop music and people like Buddy Holly and of course, Elvis. The Beatles really brings back memories for me. I can't help wonder how people who listen to rap music will feel about it 40 years from now. Will they look at each other longingly and say, "Honey, they're playing our song." Who knows, maybe they will. Music is the real time machine; you can listen to a song and suddenly you're back in that time again. Sigh...

How fun! I can picture you walking along 'bopping' to the music. And what great genres - a mixture of 50's thru the '70s...AWESOME. I hope the music continues to inspire you and keeps you moving :)
