First 5K

Saturday, October 17, 2009

If you've already read Sarah's blog, you can stop now. This is basically a repeat.

So, I ran my very first 5K today. I ran Pumpkins in the Park with Sarah. We finished in about 29:30. (I'll have the official chip time later.)

The run was really great. It was chilly, but one we got moving I was fine. It didn't rain - thankfully. There were lots of people in pretty ridiculous costumes.

I didn't take any pics of my own (I had like 1 pictures worth of battery power in my camera), but here's the link to Sarah's pictures.

As a reward (okay, really, it's just because I needed em), I stopped by Fleet Feet after the race and bought myself some new running shoes (I got all professionally fitted and stuff). I spent more money than I ever have on a pair of shoes, but I'm sure it will be totally worth it!

That is a really amazing time for your first run! Congrats on your 5k! Your feet (and knees) will thank you for the new shoes. I got fitted for some expensive shoes at the local running store and I haven't had any knee pain since! Keep up the great work! emoticon

Glad to hear you got some sweet shoes. They are so great and helpful there. Ya spend a lot but you get a lot. Plus they do SO much for the running community (like our race today, for instance) I wouldn't feel right about taking my money to a big box sporting goods store.
