The ups and downs of life

Well, today I went to the gym again. That is an upper.
My girl friend went with the family of her fiancee to make funeral arrangements for her fiancee who passed away yesterday. That is a downer.
He was a good Christian man and ready to meet his Saviour. That is an upper.
He died so suddenly which is a downer for his family but an upper for him.
There are ups and downs in this life but All things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose whether we understand it or not.
I made an appointment for my girl friend for Saturday with our hair dresser. It follows my regular appointment so will drive her over there. The funeral will be in the afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
One day we will all meet our maker. I hope He can say well done thou good and faithful servant. We know heaven will be so much better than here.
Sandy is on Facebook but hasn't been able to log in. So all of you friends of Sandy Rowden if you didn't know of this latest event in her life you now know.

    im sorry for you and your friends loss! Even at my younger age i understand and have experienced a lot of loss. i always say everyone has a different story,we all have one but loss unites us.... Im sorry for everyone who has to face loss....knowing that you're not alone is always helpful....please know that the body of Christ surrounding all of you in love and prayer at this time.

    So sorry to here of your friend's loss. I know this can be such a difficult time.

    You are a good friend & that will be very helpful to her at this time.

    You are so right about the ups & downs of life...but as you say they do happen for a reason. We dont always understand it and cant see why...but God knows.

    I have literally seen wonderful things come from terrible events so I completely believe this....of course it doesn't always make it easier.

    So sorry for your friend's terrible loss. Indeed a good man is hard to find. I recently went to a funeral of an atheist friend, who the weekend before had asked me how an apparently intelligent person like me can poison her mind by believing mythology. Needless to say the funeral was devastating to me, without the comfort of hope. I have attended many Christian funerals lately and find much comfort in the celebration of eternal life. I pray for His comfort, strength, and healing for those who wait their turn to join our loved ones in the mansion of our Precious Savior

    so sorry for your friend's loss -- but as you said, it is so good to know a brother is now reunited with his loving father in the home prepared for him. Praying for God's strength through the sadness.
