am feeling guilty

I ran only three or four times in three weeks and am feeling demotivated and guilty. The reason behind not running isnt laziness exactly, but the on and off cold and cough. I recovered completely a week back and went running. The next day I fell sick again.

I know I have more than two months remaining until the race, but what if I keep falling ill? Moreover, my family and I are going home for three weeks' vacation in November and I dont expect to get much training done then.

I ve started to wonder whether I am asking too much from myself. Have I set myself a goal that can't be achieved. I mean, 10km road race isnt a child's play! Once I set my mind on something, I hate giving up. The feeling kills me! Am I being hard on myself?? I know I feel awesome after every run. Moreover, since I started running I have lost some weight too. Maybe I should just be patient and wait until I fully recover and then work hard to make up for the lost time.

hmmm,,, I think I should do that instead of panicking emoticon

    i got to play badminton with my cousin today,,, not for long and not very tiring either,,, but i was glad to get some action after a break :)

    It's tough when life hits you like that - but sure enough there are going to be other races. So don't worry and keep your main goal in mind - getting strong and healthy is the first thing you want to do and right now, getting healthy means to not run but take care of yourself. May be your involuntary holiday from running will give you the time to recover fully. Anyway, enjoy your time and don't slack with food :) Take care!

    thank you guys!!! :) yeah i think i vl rest and use my workout time for reading,,, moreover, i havent put on anything since i got sick,, so no need to worry bt that! :D hehe

    Neelu.....Maybe ur body didnt recover fully..maybe it need some rest.....dont feel guilty..maybe u cud walk or something...low intensity meanwhile..

    Your body must be telling you something if it keeps getting sick...and if you don't give yourself time and rest, you'll never recover...and you'll never be able to run your 10K anyway if you're sick the day of! :)

    I say give yourself some "off" time--don't feel guilty, your body is smart and needs it and is telling you that.
