How to make a Jellyfish Costume

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

First, I love the pic of the peony. Second I only have the IDEA for the jellyfish costume - I have no party to wear it to!

Here's how it works. You dress in white clothes, even white shoes (these should be inexpensive clothes you won't wear again). From a craft shop get some fabric paint that is pearly & sparkly.

Next, get a cheap white sheet from Wal-Mart or similar place & a cheap umbrella (white if possible). While there get a can of white spray paint.

Decorate the sheet, shoes, and clothes with the fabric paint. Tear the sheet into strips of varying lengths, but none very wide. Maybe 2-3 inches. Spray paint the umbrella white on top & bottom...add glitter. Hang the strips of fabric from your clothing and from the ribs of the umbrella. Paint your face white and add some glitter there, too. Carry (or figure out how to attach the umbrella to your body so you don't have to carry it) the umbrella close to you.

You are now a jellyfish. Can you see a jellyfish? LOL--well, one day I'll do it! If I only I were invited to a costume party! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I Love it!!! But too much work for a lazy bones like me lol!!! I would go to bars, they usually have best costume prizes and I would bet that one would be a winner!! I don't drink, but I love to go see what people do as they can get quite inventive there. They are usually so crowded, you can go in and hang around and not be pestered for a cover charge. I have seen knights on horses to the full KISS group! Unfortunately, I haven't done it for a very long time (In fact 20 years now!!) as I no longer live close to any bars I can walk to. Pick a bar with a dance floor and a live band. I actually got asked to dance once by a spiderman and a batman lol!
