My first 1.26 mile run in my Vibrams

So - not bad at all!

I had been hoping to run yesterday but scheduling conflicts prevented me from doing that so tonight I coerced my bf to run with me :) It was nice a cool, actually kind of chilly at first but we warmed up quickly. We headed down the street in the neighborhood and walked for about 3 minutes to warm up. When we hit the corner we started to run.

There is absolutely no way that you can do a heel strike in these shoes! You don't even have to think about it - you are going to do a midfoot strike! The knee started to twinge ever so slightly and I could tell that my legs aren't used to running right now, so I opted to not go 2 miles and to go just to the next big intersection and turn back. That gave us a route of 1.26 miles.

As we kept running I didn't need walk breaks at all! I didn't feel like I needed them.
I was feeling muscles in my legs that aren't used to working.
After I had warmed up a bit more the pain in my knee lessened!

Overall I think that my first run was a huge success!!!

Tomorrow we are headed to the gym and we'll get there a little early and Nicole wants to run on the treadmill so I will wear my Vibrams on the treadmill to see how they handle that. I'm doing the strength training class after that and wearing these during the class is good strengthening for my feet :)
