SPOOK OUT THE SPOOKS!!!

Saturday, October 10, 2009

I have been doing terrific not having seizures. Yesterday according to my charts it would have been 7Months, 1Week and 5Days. Today I didn't feel quite right and I had no idea why. I checked and I hadn't messed up my medicine. I have been sleeping better, but all day today I felt like any minute I might have a seizure.
My niece has been helping at one of the main haunted houses in the area. She was one of the main people that set it up. She brought home free tickets which expired tonight. I wanted to see the house, I knew it had strobe lights but they never have caused seizures. So when it was starting to get dark we went out to the haunted house for a thrilling chilling experience.
When we got there, it was interesting. I felt a little bit guilty because I wasn't scared I am not psychic but I could tell when and where there was going to appear monsters and I usually just said, "Hello". I kept thinking maybe I should act scared to make them feel better.
As we were about to leave the haunted mansion, for some reason, I had a seizure. As usual after a seizure, I don't remember all the details, I just know that the ghosts, goblins, and monsters where all freaked out when Amy had a seizure in the haunted house. If they see me tomorrow, I will have a black eye, a bruised chin and I am going to have to go get stitches because I have a cut inside my mouth that has been bleeding for over 2 hours now. I never thought I might spook out the spooks!!!! emoticon

I am sorry that this happened to you; this should be a reminder to others that they post a warning sign when having a strobe light. Several of the houses here are sponsored by churches. Some are on a level a child could go through; others ae too explicit. Hope your bruises and swelling goes away quickly and that you start feeling better real soon. Linda

It's good that you can talk about this. Hope you're better soon and the seizures don't return. My son had them and has been free of them for over 10 years.

Ah I am so sorry. I think I told you my dog has seizures and it is scary for him and me. I never knew anything about them until I got him. WE use herbs and acupuncture and diet. He has done really well with no medicine. Maybe you can add some of this to your medical regimine. IT does not surprise me at all you knew one was coming. Maybe you need to trust your instincts and can better prepare. Of course, you don't know when it will hit. My heart goes out to you I think it would be very scary.

You have such a good attitude. I am sure you will recover just fine. The mouth does like to bleed freely, hope the stitches won't be necessary. emoticon

Oh, Amy, bless your heart! I'm so sorry! It's must be rough to never know what might cause it. I'm sure the spooks were very spooked! We have street lights that have a stobe effect when the light is red. It's supposed to be a safety measure to get your attention, but I've oftened wondered if it could make someone who has a seizure disorder have a seizure. I'm so sorry!
