Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer

Written by a 15 yr. old School Kid in Ohio :

Since the Pledge of Allegiance & The Lords Prayer
Are not allowed in Schools anymore

Because the word 'God' is mentioned...
A Kid in Ohio wrote the attached:

NEW School prayer:

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule.
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!

I LOVED it...could you send me a copy to my SP mail? Would love to have it for my Ladies` Bible class.
Bless that child for their insightfulness.

Oh this is so is VERY SAD this is what our world is coming too. I so agree this is one of the number one reasons why children are the way they are this day and age!

I agree with the others! It is sad that kids can do all kinds of crazy stuff and you can't say anything about it because its politicly incorrect, they have their rights; but if you bow your head to pray they want to have you arrested. It's crazy!

Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed reading it! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Amen. And we wonder why the kids of today are doing what they do? I actually had tears in my eyes when I read this.

Thank you for posting this. I think we have to take a stand and be willing to make our voices heard. This country was FOUNDED on Religious freedom; and now that foundation is being shoved out from under us. And people wonder why the country is in the condition it's in...

Bravo to the student who wrote this. And what a great reminder to keep the children of this country in our prayers, too.

Oh my gosh...that was powerful. It was also sad that this is our true state of affairs. In Dekalb County (AL) schools, my 16 yr old son is sometimes shunned for carrying his Bible to read in his free time. Not everyone is like that & I pray every day that our world will find God.

This reminds me of all we are learning through, and what our founding fathers really would think about taking the Bible and God out of schools. Where did all of this unconstitutional stuff come from? Has anyone read the constitution?!
