2 month marker on SparkPeople...

Sunday, October 04, 2009

Wow! Doing great! Lost 18.8 pounds so far - almost below that 200lb marker - next week's weigh-in will be a whole new set of numbers for me! This is also my 25% marker, so I'm a quarter of the way there! WooHoo!! Thank you SparkPeople - I don't think I could have done it without you. I'm feeling motivated, I have a lot more energy, I actually look forward to exercise now, and I'm not worried as much about the winter/rainy season because I have Curves and I bought the Walk Away the Pounds dvds, which I've really been enjoying this weekend.

I have to be careful, though, because I think I over-extended my elbow doing some new exercises yesterday because it HURTS today!

I think what I'm enjoying the most, though, is the increase in my overall energy. I dont' feel like lazing around the house anymore. I know I can get all my chores done and still have time to relax. I don't feel as if I'm trying to get too much done, anymore. Now, I stay active, I get my food prepped, I do the laundry, exercise, read, and this weekend I'm making a knight helmet for my son out of cardboard and aluminum foil - it's not pretty, but he's excited about it and I hope to have it done before I go pick him up tonight.

So what's next for me...what are my next steps? Well, continue with Curves and walking - through October, my goal is to meet the 30 minutes cardio a day minimum 5 days a week. I've let slide my meditation practice, so getting 15 minutes minimum a day is also part of October's goals. I've got the nutrition and water consumption down pretty well, so those just need to be maintained. Trying some new recipes - focusing on autumn harvest vegetables - so I won't get bored with what I eat.

Once my weight remains below 200 for even the middle of the day weigh-ins, then I'll adjust my nutrition to meet a pound a week goal - I don't want to keep pushing myself at this rate, it's been tough food-wise. I'll still meet my spring/summer goals, but I just want to be able to flex more with the winter months coming on. It will be a new menu and I don't want to limit myself too much. I'm even envisioning a slice of pie next month! Maybe some rum balls in December...who knows! Maybe I'll go crazy one day and just eat whatever I want - Thanksgiving? Christmas? Who can say...but I'm going to enjoy it knowing that even binging one day won't break my stride!

Have a great October, everyone! Keep the Spark going...
