I'm back

Saturday, October 03, 2009

I'm back on spark people. I have been away for about 3 months and I gained about 4 pounds. I have to get back on track. Not just for me, but for my children and my soon to be grand children. I want to be able to play with them and chase them, but with twin boys, as expected, its going to take a lot of energy, so that means I need to lose a lot of weight. I have 4 month until they are born. I should be able to lose 40 pounds in that amount of time and then another six months or more until they start crawling, so I have to work hard. I need to exercise more than anything. I am not a big eater, I just don't get enough exercise to get my metabolism going.

Getting back on track may be daunting at first, but worth it. Until recently it seems like all I did was to watch the pounds go up on my scale. Pounds that were holding me back from energy to get through the day. Even a few pounds makes a big difference!
So don't get discouraged and drop out. Two steps forward and one step back is STILL one step forward net!

As to grandchildren, I have 3, two girls (2 and 4) and a new grandson. Perhaps that's why I got busy again on trying to lose weight. Just keeping up with his mom was exhuasting me and I've only gained 10 pounds since the 4-year-old was born but it feels like 50! So now I get up and workout each morning so i can help take care of him
Get out there and do something - walk, skip, hop, pushup, dance, swim, balance...you get the idea! Find small ways to add exercise.

My biggest hint is to do things 15 minutes at a time. I know you can walk for 15 minutes. Set a timer and do it! Can you balance on one foot for 15 seconds? It may be hard at first, but I bet you can. CAn you do 2 pushups after going to the bathroom. Try it! After a wile it becomes easier, I promise!

All this exercise will give you energy. Just take baby steps! Think of those 2 boys and go for it!

    Good luck! Aim high!
