Kids

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

So, my daughter is in 3rd grade and I noticed that she does not play with kids at lunch last year and it is starting again this year. She will ask someone if they want to play and they will say No I am playing with this person....
She gets sad.... I get sad!
Last night we were doing homework and she said, Mom no one likes me, they never ask me to play.... WTF!!!
I really need advice on how to help her make friends! She is so sweet and girls do talk to her, and she has a friend Elizabeth, but she plays with another girl at lunch. Elizabeth comes to our house and stuff, but some reason at lunch, Brooke is not good enough to play with. I really don't want her to lose her sweetness, and she is straight A's... I don't want her to start not liking school... I am going to put her in gymnastics, but that don't help at school. She plays with the girl across the street at lunch, I guess, but she is in the 4th grade.
Should I just butt out and let her handle it? I think I might email her teacher and see what she see's in school... and if there is anything that she can suggest
It just breaks my heart to think of her sad...

Have her invite some of the girls in her class over one at a time. Perhaps they will get to know her a little better and then want to play in larger groups. Good luck!

I can not believe how mean kids can be! I keep telling Brooke that you can be friends with more then one person, and play with more then one person... but she is not the one that needs to be told!
I did email her teacher this morning, but it was 830 and school starts right after that, so I will wait and see when she does email me back...
