Track it! Track It! Track It! That's the advice everyone gives. If you want to.... [eat better/lose weight/read more/write more] then you have to track everything! Ok, I get it, I have to track it.... but how, may I ask, does an ADD impaired procrastinating forgetful adult do this??? About the only thing I can remember to do daily is get dressed & eat, and occassionally I remember my work schedule too. How do I learn to track these things? Here's an example of what I am supposed to do DAILY:
1 - take 6 pills (high blood pressure/diabetes/BC/asprin/al
2 - test my blood sugar (before and after every meal)
3 - feed all the animals (kids/dogs/fish)
4 - take care of the house
Here's what actually gets done DAILY:
Get the picture? I'm lucky that my kids are older, they usually remind me that we need to eat dinner (or my husband cooks), and my mood swings remind me that i have to take my pills, and my mood swings remind me to test my BS once in a while also, and the smell of the house reminds me to clean once in a while also. But none of it gets done DAILY.
So once again I ask, how does a person like me learn to track her food and exercise??? Oh yeah, I guess I am supposed to exercise DAILY too, but we all know that isn't happening either. It's hot here in Florida and I think if I break out into a dripping sweat on my way to & from the car then I have worked out enough! I know that several people disagree with that, but that's why you're losing weight and I'm not. That why I am once again hovering around the 180's. it's much better than where i was a few years ago, but not where I want to be!
Help! How do I get there?
