another interview

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

I have another interview, this time at one of the place I wanted to work at in the first place. The problem??? I am only a third of the way done with my dental work.
They are probably wanting to hire me as a server,(which is what I want), but how many people really want to order from a server who is missing teeth. I look like a Halloween pumpkin lolol
Those kind of servers are usually found in diners, not middle class restaurants.
I know I am a good server, I always make great money doing it, but besides the missing dental work, it's an Italian restaurant again. I spent four years being treated badly by the owners daughter and he allowed it, but I needed the job, I had bills to pay,
So I am going in there feeling like I lost the battle when the war hasn't even begun.
So I have the day at work this morning trying to get the confidence up that I will need to get this job, and like it. I know I can make enough money that not only will I be able to help more of paying the bills....but help get the kids the things they need.
And with triple birthdays, and the holidays coming up...yea I need this job.ok so I'm off to see the wizard and get ready for work...lolol

I agree with sandymilton, sometimes it just takes something to break the ice and get over the awkward moment.Good luck.

I really like what SandyMilton said--she's right on target with it. It's a great way to break the ice so to speak without there being any awkwardness. I wish you all the best in your interview!! Be sure to let us know how it went!

Good luck to you!! If you really feel the need to say something, simply say something like...... pardon the mess - I'm in the process of getting work done and it's not complete yet! Short, sweet and simple.

Best to you...I can imagine this must be a difficult time. But you sound as though you have the strength to do whatever it takes. emoticon
