A Small Victory!

Sunday, September 27, 2009

Today I decided to reward myself with a small treat. I was at the grocery store and I saw Bridge Mixture in the bulk food bins, so I bought just a handful of it.
On the drive home I was thinking about how much I was going to enjoy my chocolatey snack.
As soon as I got home I made a cup of tea and sat down to savour the Bridge Mixture.
I put the first piece in my mouth and thought "Wow, that's awfully sweet." The next piece was just as sugary. After trying four little pieces I realized that I wasn't enjoying it at all and I threw the rest in the garbage!
I consider this to be a small victory over my sugar habit, and I learned that my tastes are slowly changing for the better.
Next time I'll buy myself some bubble bath instead!

I had a similar thing happen recently. I decided I was going to treat myself to a coffee with sugar and cream instead of my normal skim milk and splenda.

    I tasted terrible!

We've come a long way baby!!

good job. Isn't it funny how sometimes we "think" we need something sweet, but in all reality we can live without it at that moment?

That's awesome! My sweet tooth is something I really need to try harder at working on.
