What I hate about some Fridays

Today we had a Town Meeting at work, a meeting of the entire group during which we get a top level recap of how the office is doing. To make it more palatable, kolaches are provided.

Today also happens to be the day we're celebrating September birthdays. So a huge birthday cake is sitting on the table as well. And we're encouraged to bring other snacks to share, so there are a couple of boxes of donuts as well.

No trouble resisting yet, but if someone shows up with breakfast tacos, all bets are off! Just kidding.....

    I was laid off in July, but I sure remember the office food. I found the key was to bring something I could eat. Eventually, they also brought more healthy food-- at least for my going away party.

    I also feel your pain, but TRUST me, the pain will eventually go away when you consistently, consciously make emoticon decisions like you did today.

    I feel your pain! I was just going to blog about the same problem. Its our monthly office lunch today which I skipped and went to the gym. But when I got back and went into the kitchen to make my tea I found 4 boxes of leftover pizza and 4 trays of assorted cupcakes! Holy temptation batman!!! Normally I'm not tempted but those cupcakes look amazing! I just need to stay clear of the kitchen until I leave for the day and I know I'll be fine. But they don't make it easy do they???
