I bought something new. Do you know where I'm headed with this?

Friday, September 25, 2009

You guys,

Last week I sold some stuff and put some money down on a new bike. I didn't want to say anything about it till I actually had it in my posesssion.

Welp, it's in my posession!

! ! !

I got myself a starter 'endurance road' bike. Drop down handlebars, skinny tires, and one of those tiny little seats. I picked it up last night, and it was so gloomy and overcast, I didn't know if I'd be able to ride on the first night of ownership.

But I did! And wow, that's all I can say. It flies, it shifts great, it accelerates, it's half as light as my first bike. I didn't take the time to put my odometer on. I just jammed the headlight on and hit the road. But I was FLYING down my local slow roads. It was awesome! I couldn't believe how effortless it was in some of the places where I normally struggle uphill, or have to stop and rest. In comparison, my old bike feels like a Sherman Tank.

It was such an amazing an smooth ride, I can't stop gushing. It was even more comfortable than I thought. That little saddle was pretty comfortable. It wasn't bumpy like I thought it would be. It will take a little bit to get used to hand placement and brake placement. But overall, it was very comfortable.

Here's the old bike. All upright and fat.

Here's the new one! Sexy!

I would have taken more pictures, but it was already dark when I got started. I probably won't even get to ride over the weekend with all the stuff to do. But it won't be long!

Have a good weekend!

    I've been expecting this!

I like your old bike too.

We have a bicycle built for 4, but the two in the front are the only ones that pedal.

I've NEVER found anyone who will pedal me around. Would you do it?

Keep up your great exercise routine. WOOOHOOO

Insert hyper-salivation... that is a sweet ride!! I can see the aerodynamic differential and the non-nub smaller tires... Le'Sigh...E has been urging me to get road tires for my fat tire/heavy mtn. bike. Part of me likes the fitness challenge/weather limited time of riding a heavier bike, but that OTHER part of me wants to embrace the STEALTH SPEED! Fear factor part of me is concerned about wipe-out on wet with non-nubs.

Please dew, tell more as you acquaint better! emoticon emoticon

Congrats on the new wheels... sexy wheels that is. I'm thinking you need to give that two wheeled girl a name and treat her good!

Happy biking and looking forward to more photos and stories of your travels.

Your new bike is definitely sexy. You don't have much long until the snow comes so take advantage while you can. Congrats!

I'm so glad you posted before I left today! It's a beaut! DH said I would double my speed when I get my new bike. I thought he was exaggerating a bit.

Glad you didn't have to check it out with an umbrella. And don't go taking chances with the traffic. You are not THAT fast!

Gush on, Brother! It's music to my ears.

There's nothing like a great bike ride. It's my primary form of exercise. I love to be outdoors and feel the wind in my hair (through the holes in my helmet).
