I'm just not into it.

I'm really gonna have to think long and hard about why I'm not into the healthy lifestyle anymore. I lifted weights this morning...for 12 minutes. and I. was. done.

I just didn't want to continue. Where has my desire gone? My motivation? I can't find them.

tips anyone?

    These are all great suggestions! I agree that sometimes adding a new activity or goal helps -- I've recently started yoga and pilates, and am really enjoying the challenge from those. Maybe setting a physical goal like participating in a swim league or completing a race/walk would help increase your motivation. But being active here on SP is definitely one of the best strategies, in my opinion!

    But you did SOMETHING!. And that's good. Just look around you at all the people doing nothing. Just be gentle and kind to yourself again. You've been through a wild 18 months - or more?

    I really don't have any suggestions for you except maybe stop thinking of healthy living as a chore and try to make it fun. You used to like swimming and you have a pool now so make use of that. Try new healthy recipes. Try new fruits or veggies. Add juice or Crystal Light to your water. Remember that you're doing this not just for you but for your kids. Don't you want them to have you around for a long, long time?

    For me, I just have a real stubborn streak and refuse to give up. Yes, there's some days I don't feel like exercising or I'm bored with what I'm doing so I try something else. Same goes with food. But, the fact is that I FEEL better when I exercise and I FEEL better when I eat properly and I FEEL better when I drink my water and that's the main reason that I keep trying.

    Self-talk is the key for me. I fend off being discouraged by living just in today. Perhaps you might congratulate yourself on what you did today and leave it at that? I think it is awesome that you are still trying to do it. A little eventually leads to a lot more.

    You still did something! Take some time off, relax and come back when you're ready again. It's a marathon this thing and sometimes you need to just stop and take it easy!

    Sometimes you just need a break, and something is better than nothing. Maybe do something light like a walk to clear your head. Or do an activity that you haven't done in awhile.
