I really can do this!

It's been a challenge, but I know now that I really can do this. Not only can I do it, but I can lose more than I originally planned. I've lost nearly 15 pounds and realized - that's ALREADY 25% of my goal. My goal was 160, but let's face it, I can go down to 145 - I just never thought I could, much less in a year. That will be a total weight loss of 70 pounds off my starting weight. I just didn't want to dream that big - to think that I could be at such a low weight seemed to be the impossible dream. But I CAN do it - I'm on my way. Next week, after payday, I'll be joining Curves - it's cheaper than the local athletic club by $12/month and it will help me stay focused on the strength training that I'm still lacking. I won't have to worry about trying to fit in classes and all sorts of things I know I could get easily bogged down in. Curves will keep me focused - quick intense sessions circuit training - to the point, no mussing about.

However, I'm still pushing myself - at least until I get safely under the 200 marker. Once I can randomly weigh myself and fall consistently below 200 pounds on any given weigh in, then I'll adjust my goals to something closer to a 1 pound a week weight loss. Right now, I'm targeting 2 pounds to get going. But I'm finding myself hungrier than I am comfortable with long-term. Granted, I'm complaining now because I have a week until payday and no money left for groceries - so I think I am more psychologically hungry than anything - I have plenty of food, I'm eating nutrient dense calories, and I'm eating at the high end of my range. But still...eh, I'm hungry.

All in all - doing good, going strong, looking forward to next summer's wardrobe!!!
