Losing weight isn't an overnight fix; it's a lifestyle change

You're losing weight; that's a good thing. Actually, it's a great thing! But we all know that the weight doesn't just fall off, it takes work. You have to make choices and changes and yes definitely, some of them can be tough.

It can be tempting to complain or moan about how hard it is to make these sacrifices, but don't go there. It really is a waste of energy. And if you complain too much, it's likely you'll decide this lifestyle change is too hard, and fall right back into your old habits.

If you find yourself entering this state of mind, stop! Instead remind yourself why you made the decision to lose weight in the first place. Be proud of the progress you've made so far, whether you've lost 2 pounds or 20. Know that your hard work will pay off and it's worth every bit of effort you invest. With this perspective you'll be back on track in no time.

    That was very well said, and I couldn't agree with you more! I had always been so upset that I had gained so much weight in so little time, and I kept looking for so-called "quick fixes." I looked into several different diet pills and other exercise machines, and all the while, I was still gaining weight. I finally reached a point where I said enough is enough and decided to make it a lifestyle change. I'm happy to say it has worked out GREAT for me, and I'm on my way to my goal weight. Good luck with your efforts, and keep up the positive attitude!!!

    emoticon blog! And really great advice! I'm finding it a little difficult at the moment because I'm stressed over midterms, but keeping in mind why I started this is journey keeps me focused on where I want to get! emoticon
