Beginning Turbo Kick

Monday, September 21, 2009

I ordered a new Turbo Kick to prepare for my class. It's completely similar to the basic TJ classes but with a few extra reps. I love watching the group workouts at Camp Turbo, whch brings me to tears watching the mass enthusiasm fill the room. I aspire to be there someday soon!

*** Now, on to the BodyBugg... ***

I am very happy with the performance and reports overall, but there are a few kinks that I will have to iron out.

First of all, I was half-way into my workout yesterday, when my velcro literally melted off the strap. There is only one tiny circle of velcro that keeps it all together, so I am in big trouble right now. (I need to get out to the store & either find some industrial strength glue, or a new piece of velcro - ugh!)

Then there is all of the uploading. Well, it's not really that bad but you have to set aside about 15 min. at the end of each day to plug in your monitor to upload your activity & then type in each and every morsel to find your deficit. This can be a challenge, since the food database is somewhat limited (unlike Spark, which in my opinion has it all!)

So there is a lot to get used to & I don't know how it will look having two dog-bone paperclips holding my strap together at the gym (LOL) ... Maybe I should put it on my calf again until I can get it replaced.

Oh! If you are reading this & contemplating a purchase, be sure to get the monitor/watch combo. I do not have a clue what I would do without the display because I can keep it on me at all times (it also converts into a pedometer style gadget if you don't want to wear it on your arm). At a quick glance, I can see my total steps for the day (or yesterday), my goals, calories burned so far, and total activity. Without it, you would have to go online & plug it in to see your progress. Right now, they are offering it as a package (the watch unit is about $99 on its own).

I hope this helps!!
