A complete surprise!

I've always tried off and on to lose weight in between having the children. It wasn't until after my sixth that I found SparkPeople and it really made a difference. I was able to lose weight and get in shape. I kept up with it for about 4-5 months. Then I wasn't as determined and put about 4 pounds back on. Then I got pregnant again and I was in the whole cycle thing all over again. When I'm nursing, I've tried, but I really don't lose weight much at all. I get shaky and can't function well when I've tried. My DH was always there to encourage me that it's only for a season and I'll be able to drop the weight once I'm done nursing. Meanwhile, even though I know it's true, it was never good for my self-esteem waiting for that time to come.

Well, that time did May I started to jump back in the habits I knew right. I didn't actually start using SP again until mid-July. I'm SO glad I did. I set a goal weight for myself, and though I'm not there yet, I've been take by a complete surprise. I had lost enough weight that I need to go purchase some new jeans. (And I hate shopping!) So I went to Wal-Mart to look. I grabbed one size down, then thought to myself, "Well, let me see if I can squeeze into two sizes down." I went into the dressing room and thought, "Oh, what the heck, I'll try the smaller of the two on first." Never dreaming that they would fit, but they DID. And with room to spare. I stood there amazed! I honestly don't think I wore this size in high school and I KNOW I'm in better shape than then. What a blessing to see all of the hard work paying off!

Now, we are done having children and I won't be facing that cycle anymore. However, I need to make sure I keep the habits that I've formed and not to let them sneak back in there, especially since my DH doesn't eat quite like I do. I need to just keep on, keeping on!
