Things I've Learned in the Last 6 Weeks

I love the leg press machine at the gym! With my legs flexed in that way and from the particular angle I'm sitting at - my thighs look AWESOME! My hope is that continued use of this machine will result in my thighs looking like that in the mirror while standing.

I now know why my D$ loves her pool so much. I feel INCREDIBLE after a swim workout! My body is tired but somehow I'm still wicked energized; it's pretty freakin' great I must admit.

1/2 pound of shrimp sautéed in Pam, with spices and a 1/4 cup of lite beer with 1/3 cup of cheese makes an amazing dinner for me. Although after dinner hiccups and belches are vile...just sayin'

Drinking water doesn't suck as much as I thought it would. I decided that the frequent runs to the bathroom are probably good for my metabolism.

No matter how much I experiment I cannot find a way to enjoy TVP. I really want to and I have about 10lbs of the stuff so I haven't given up but really I choke that sh!t down because it's healthy and I already paid for it. Same with powdered egg whites. Leo the amazing growing pup has no taste buds and will eat the powdered egg whites as well as dehydrated carrots which have the consistency of grape nuts.

I'm not a runner. I used to be and I used to like it. I just don't enjoy it now so I probably won't be doing it unless I'm being chased.

I'm never going to give up sugar in my coffee. And that's ok.

Heart rate monitors, wicking socks, fitted sneakers and recovery shakes are not hype. They're lovely.

I like my bike, the gym and walking my dogs more than sanding furniture. Seems like a strange realization, but 3 months ago this was not the case.

It is 100% ok to let my house get messy if it means that I have more time to play. I'm usually too tired to get bent about it.

Simple is better. I'm going on a reduction kick and "stuff" is going to be way diminished.

Restraint in verbally b!tch slapping people makes me feel very empowered. It's all about the time and place. And on occasion it's perfectly warranted to rip someone a new one.

Sleep is absolutely a necessity in a healthful life.

And to conclude with a picture taken from the first night of Homecoming (the non Long Island Iced Tea night)

I have a lovely clavicle.
