Good week on tap!

Hi Everyone,

I lost 1 pound, and I'm grateful for that. I am STILL mucking around in the 160's and I'm not pleased with that because it's been OH! SINCE JULY!!

For some reason I am mentally resisting going to that next level. AKA sabatoging myself. What happens is that I get on the scale on Thursday or Friday, and I see I am down to 160, or 160.5, and then I think, "OH! I'm doing great this week!" And then I relax my eating a bit and all of a sudden, I'm not doing so great any more. Not bad mind you, but not really dropping what I CAN and what I SHOULD.

WHY I am doing this I don't know. But I definitely need a new strategy! SO, this week I am going to PUT THE SCALE AWAY and not get on it until next Monday.

OK, now I've got to get on the dreadmill. emoticonVANDAL'S 6 POUNDS CANNOT GO UNANSWERED!

    TG 1 lb a week that is good 4 lbs a month 48 lbs in a yr that is nothing to sneeze at . Keep up the good work . I wish you the best . God Bless. emoticon

    You and I have the same story - I'm 54 and have been trying to get down to around 150. I weigh 163 today - I'm down about 5 lbs from my heaviest weight. I've lost 3 lbs in 3 weeks by using the SP food diary. I really identify with you - when the scale shows a drop of a pound or two I relax a little and then when the "official" weighing in day comes around - not what I wanted. I think I must also subconsciously believe that weekends don't count - combined with the different routine (from workdays) - it's a struggle to stay on track. I've started the C25K program and hoping that, combined with counting calories, will FINALLY help me achieve my goal.

    Good Luck! This is the week to get into the 150's.

    Hey there TG,

    Thanks for the tip on active.com I will check it out.

    Now - give yourself credit for losing that pound and credit for the determination to not get on the scale - I thought we weren't supposed to do that anyway!!

    Are you still doing the cards and the Beck's program? May I suggest just one card this week along the lines of "I will be at 159 or less no matter what it takes!!" and read it at least 5 times a day.

    You'll get there. As an aside I have a goal of retiring the 1 one that middle digit by Sept. 28th so I'm going to have to really hump to get that one done. You will be SO embarrassed if I get there before you get to 159 or less and YOU KNOW I won't let you EVER live that down!! emoticon

    Go get em TG!! This is the week that you do it. Think about the last time you had a 5 in that middle digit and think about TC's smoldering looks - it just gets better and better!!
