Seriously?

Thursday, September 10, 2009

So the interview came and went, and if it was not for my still achy feet (from wearing heels) it all seems like it never happened.

I read and read (and played some games on Facebook to try and relax) and ended going to bed at midnight (having to be up at 6.30 on interview day).

Briefcase was packed, clothes were chosen, itinerary was printed.

Yet when I got there they had no-one to come and pick me up, then each of the 5 interviews ran late and the only question they asked me was 'so, what did you do in your previous job?'. I had to ask to get info about the position they are recruiting for.

So either they hated me, or they loved me, or they have seen so many candidates that they stopped trying...in any case, I must now wait A WHOLE MONTH to find out if they want me....for a SECOND INTERVIEW!

Oh well, at least I was treated to a delicious lunch!

Now back to the drawing board...I am NOT going to sit around whilst they decide my fate! (but on the plus side I have a whole month to fit in my OTHER interview suit if I need to meet with them again!)

Thank you so much for all your thoughts and well-wishes!!!

Yes, I have a friend (apparently in your profession) who is trying to find another job and he too had to go through a similar ordeal. I don't know how many interviews they need and come on a whole month? But now that you had you deep breath and a period of unwinding - you will come back, won't you? We have missed you here, you know.

Sounds discouraging, but remember a positive attitude will keep you motivated and going so you can be healthy and fit into that other interview suit. Good luck Star emoticon

I'm sorry you had such a disorganized experience, but it might provide more of an insight as to what daily work life might be with them, as AddisAddict also said. The person doing the interviews might just be a lousy interviewer, with no idea of what kind of questions to ask.

Still annoying, but be strong and know they'd be lucky to have you! And, truly, if not this job, then something better is waiting for you.

I've had ones like that where I thought for sure they weren't interested, but I got called back and ones that went swimmingly and I got nothing, so try not to overanalyze. Crazy, crazy, crazy this job market!

    Good luck!

Wow! Wonder what working for them would be like? I echo everyone's comments. Use this coming month to gear up for that next interview and do positive things for yourself. JBMT08 is right -- if it's right, it'll happen.

That sucks....I dont like when they run late...it is very unprofessional. Dont worry, if the position is right for you, it will happen sooner. Meanwhile, I am excited that you are still looking hard! Good LUCK!
