Tip of the Day - Stay the course
One little (insert favorite food here) won't derail my diet. For the most part this is true. One cookie probably isn't going to send your entire weight loss program into a tailspin.
The real problem with veering off course, is the precedent you set for yourself. It's true that when you break the rules one time, it makes it so much easier to do it again. The trouble is, two times leads to more, and more from there. Before you know it, you chalk your diet up to another failed attempt.
It's unrealistic to think that slip-ups are never going to happen. Whether it's a social outing not to be missed, or a business lunch, it's going to happen. The key is to save your lapses for occasions such as these, not while you're sitting at home bored.
So try to stay as close to 100% as you possibly can. And remember, just like any other good habit, the more you do the right thing, the easier it is to maintain momentum!
