We had a great time this weekend. Last night, my son and I walked around the ramparts of Ft. Monroe, armed with a digital camera and a Digital voice recorder to catch the sights and sounds of the "spirit" world. Didn't catch much except a few insect bites, but still fun, and I got 80 minutes of walking in. Today after mass, we went down to Hampton, and caught a tour boat for a three hour tour of the the harbor, the naval yard complete with aircraft carriers and other naval vessels, and an explanation of the Civil War battle of the Monitor and the Merrimack. We also took a 45 tour of Ft. Wool.
During the trip, my highlight was seeing a small school (?) of dolphins. Being a landlubber, this was my first sighting of dolphins in the wild. It has been a great weekend, so far, and I am really loathe to leave to come back to work on Monday.
I am trying to be "good", but as you know, eating away from home can be a challenge.
Here's hoping your Labor Day weekend was as pleasant as mine!
Spark ya' later!
