Sunday, day of rest lol

Sunday, August 30, 2009

I'm not sure what to blog about today. I had an okay day. It was a Sunday which was nice, but I cleaned my house so that it wouldn't need much upkeep during the week when I teach. I swept, mopped and vacuumed. I figure those things burn a few calories. I washed the sheets and cleaned the bathrooms etc. My house doesn't get as messy as it used to do when I had kids at home, but it always gets messed up on Fridays when my 3 grandchildren come for their weekly visit. However, I wouldn't miss that visit for the world. A few handmarks on my mirrors and windows are a small price to pay. The unflushed toilets that I sometimes miss for a day or two though can be quite gross lol. I try to check each bathroom after they're gone because you never know where they've been.

I also graded some tests and papers so I can give them back tomorrow. School is in full swing. My AP kids are starting their second book and my sophomores are almost done with Princess Bride. I'm such a taskmaster. Of course, that means that I have to read all of the books too.

I'm staying strong on the diet and still walking every night with my husband. Tonight we hiked the trail above our house. It's quite steep but there's a lovely view of Zion National Park from up there. It's even nicer than the view from my house which is incredible too.

I am becoming resigned to the fact that this is going to be a long slow process losing the 10lbs I still want to lose. I can't believe some people lose that in a week, but I know that they have much more to lose than I do. I was hoping to be at goal by October but I can tell it's going to be November at least before I get close. Just hope I don't then blow it by overeating during the holidays.

Thanks to all my friends at SP for your love and support. It really makes a difference.
