The saga of the new jeans...with picture

So I've been writing back and forth with the wonderful ladies in my Fab 40's Team and they have given me great ideas on brands of jeans to look at. This all started because my favorite pair which are Gap from 10 years ago, now have holes in the knees. So I have been researching jeans for months. Why? I have no idea. I do this from time to time when I or someone in my family needs something. I spent days researching electric shavers for hubby's birthday, months for Anthony's carseat, ahhh who knows how long for my laptop, and the latest was nights searching for the perfect backpack for the first day of preK. Anyway I guess I do it more than I'd like to admit. Usually I get more confused than educated. But later when someone else needs help I'm a great person to talk to!

So I've researched all the different jeans, Gap, Loft, Lucky, Silver, True Religion, Hudson, etc. Low rise, mid rise, skinny jeans, straight leg, boot leg, flare leg, 100% cotton, Lycra mix, etc. at this point price doesn't matter, blah blah blah. I just realized how much I love to confuse myself! In the past I have bought so many pairs only to find out that I really don't like them at all. I wear them once and never wear them again. It's those skinny mirrors at the stores!

Some of you may be relating to my search for jeans and some are probably thinking I have nothing better to do with my time. I guess yesterday when it was damp and rainy and I had to put jeans on for the first time in weeks, I realized how much I don't like wearing them. Shorts and capris are so much more flattering on me. So I am determined to find the "right" jeans. I just want a pair that I can throw on with sneakers/low heals, and a pair for heals. Not asking for much, right? So hopefully by Wednesday I will be at the mall a place I rarely get to go since I was pregnant. I used to frequent the Short Hills Mall a little too much. I deserve a trip there! I can window shop or at least try for the first time. They have all the great "jeans" stores. So it's my best bet.

Here are the jeans before the holes and before baby, this picture is from 2004!

Thanks for reading. I will definitely post a picture if I find the "great pair of jeans".

I h ave never liked jeans either, because first, they always seemed so heavy to me, and second, I could never find a pair that fit my build. (5' tall, 90 pounds) They would fit in the waist and hip and be about 12 inches to long for my short stature.

Guess where I found the perfect fit? Girls department, size 14 slim at K-Mart!!!
A wee bit big in he waist, but PERFECT length!!! And not the waist high ones instead of the hip huggers!

I was so excited I bought 2 pairs in blue and one in black. I was in heaven.
The first pants I DIDNT have to have shortened or taken in.

And because they were stone washed, they were incredibly soft and so comfortable to wear.

Until I find those, I was strictly capri, sweat pants, or shorts person. I still dont wear them as comfy wear. I love the winter when its sweatpants and warm
    snuggly sweaters.

I think ALL women can relate to the quest for the perfect pair of jeans. Hoping you get yours! DEFINITELY give us some pics and go for dark washes without any wear or whiskering- they make you look slimmer- not that you need to worry about that!

Jeans are over-rated and over-priced! Especially when we have to look at those slinky young gals who are wearing them without a flaw (seemingly). I liked Lee jeans and have always been a sucker for Gap jeans (until everyone went so low low low waisted). Like you, the search can be endless and all we want is a reasonably priced pair of jeans for 'throwing on' after work and running out to dinner and a movie or whatever. Keep us posted and thanks for sharing with us.
