I'm Back!!!!!!!!

In a few weeks I will be a year Post-op.....

Let me back up and say that September 25, 2008 I had the Gastric Bypass. This journey has been a good one overall. I did have some complications with my hair and fell back into the bad habits of not eating regularly, but all in all I had no serious issues.

I am still very pleased with my decision and the outcome. I am doing things I never thought of doing before. In June I ran a 5K. I've discovered that I love jogging/running (prayfully my knees will hold up).

I am back to SP because I have hit a serious plateau. For the last few weeks my weight has been fluctuating between 178 & 173. I need it to go in one direction so it's time to implement new strategies. SP played a critical role in my weight loss in 2006, so I decided to return to methods I know work.

As I stated in the previous blog (written last year) the weight loss journey one that requires commitment no matter what method you choose. I want to encourage all, non-surgicals & surgicals to be committed to the process and the results will come.

This week begins documenting caloric intake and energy output. I'm excited. The goal is to lose 10lbs by October 3rd. Join me!

Congratulations on your weight loss and I'm glad the surgery worked so well for you. I have a sister thinking of having this surgery and I feel more confidence for her seeing how well it worked.

You wrote this on my 46th birthday and like you I have hit a plateau but my surgery was a little over 2 years ago and I am down 161 pounds to 231 (when I went in for surgery I weighed in at a whopping 394 pounds! It hasn't been the easiest thing I have done because like you I slipped back into old eating habits. I know that I was down more in December of last year because my clothes fit looser. But here I am again to get that encouragement that I need to stay on the right track. Would you like to be Sparkbuddies? emoticon We can work on plateau busting together, I have gotten a few tricks from my nutritionist and my cousin who is a personal trainer - We can do this, my sister! emoticon
