Tracking at the Fair
Friday, August 28, 2009
So we went to the Fair today and I wasn't sure how to track - seriously, it's not like you can just pull up Fair food - although I think I found a reasonably healthy option in a veggie gyro. Then tracking 4 hours of "walking" - which I think really came down to about 1 hour of walking and 3 hours of waiting while JP went on rides. Dinner was delicious and only a little overkill - went to Red Robin and ordered my usual Gardenburger sans sauce, but added on some cheese and BBQ sauce on the side for a little treat. The amazing part is that I was pretty much full, so barely even ate the steak fries - I think 3 - which showed me how much my eating habits have changed! I used to be able to down a gardenburger and order of fries plus still feel like I was hungry for more. Now I felt satisfied with just the burger.
Then, JP wanted a sundae, so we split a kids sundae, which was fun and satisfying and less than 200 calories since we split it pretty evenly. Overall, only went over my calorie goal by less than 100 - but lunch was approximated since I wasn't really sure how much feta cheese and blacks beans they put in, but I think I eyeballed it pretty well. The thing was mostly lettuce, anyways!
Ah well, it was a fun day, I'm exhausted. Oh, but I ended the day buying my first pair of "walking" shoes - not just any shoe, but I bought some specifically for walking and they were on sale!! Woohoo...happy Sparking!!
