quick update

I really should be in bed, but since I am not, I shall make a little update.

So, on Saturday I did indeed hit the renfest with the in-laws and the hubs. I indulged in one cheese soupe in a bread bowl, and one glass of mead. It was delicious. I managed to be strong on later trips to the mead booth, and only had water the rest of the day. It was just as well, since they don't allow outside food or drink at the fest. I indulged at the dinner party a bit, as well. Though the food wasn't really stretching that much. Whole grains, grilled veggies...all delicious. I had a bit of berry cobbler, but so yummy!

Sunday, I was better behaved. It was easy to resist the cake at the party, since it was chocolate and I am not allowed to have chocolate because of my meds.

Today, back to the plan. So much easier when I am working, and on my regular schedule. I decided to wait to weigh in to let the effects of the weekend balance out. I started week 2 of C25K tonight. It wasn't bad at all.

BTW...I do have a favor on behalf of a friend. I wouldn't normally shill things here, but this is something important to me. A dear friend of mine has been working for years to get her novel published. She was successful, and her book comes out tomorrow in the US, UK, and Australia (of course, you can also order it online). It is called The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker, and the author is Leanna Renee Hieber. It is historical fantasy, and retails for $6.99 USD. I would love to see her on the bestseller list, and to see the rest of this trilogy get published. I am just over halfway reading my copy (thanks amazon.com) and it is very good. I am not just saying that...I wouldn't be pimping her book if I didn't think it was good. She would never know. However, I really believe in the book, and she is one of my favorite people ever. So, if you have the seven bucks to spare, and like reading at all, it would be super fantastic if you picked it up. She would honestly be super grateful.

That's all for now...I must be off to bed to try and snag a little beauty sleep. Good night!!!

    You definitely have self control. I don't. I get to those sorts of places and act like I'll never be able to eat any of it ever again. emoticon

    Your self control and dedication is inspiring!! I need to take a page out of your book and really crack down on my eating in order to get myself to the point of losing weight again. It's too easy for me to think "oh, I need to eat" when I'm in the middle of training, and then I just get stuck on the same old plateau. I'm going to take a break from training in the fall/winter, so I know it's going to get a lot harder to manage my weight then and I'm going to have to be a lot more dedicated like you are!!

    I'm going to order a copy of your friend's book! I need something to take along with me to California in a week or so, her book sounds like something right up my alley.

    Your friend's book sounds like it's pretty good. I'll see if I can find it at my local library at some point.
