That IS a hard connection to break - snacking during movies. But you can do it, because you want to. (And popcorn without a lot of butter is not that bad for you - it's a good source of fiber too.) 4312 days ago
I know ... it's so difficult. When I am going to watch a movie, even if it's treating to a movie theatre, I take in my "big bag". LOL And whether you're home or going out to watch a movie, you just have to plan for other healthy alternatives. For my salt crazing, I will take a few almonds or pistachios with me, and also some celery. If you are going out to the movie, you can use a potato peeler to peel off the top part of the celery if you don't care for the strings. I also noticed it is less crunchy, though not by too much. But then I chew it slowly when I'm taking it out. I will put about 1-2 tbls of natural peanut butter (I prefer non-hydronated foods, and regular smooth and crunchy brands are hydronated) in a small container to dip the celery in. For my sweet tooth, I may bring some granola with dark chocolate chips (though it's difficult to find w/o hydronated oils, I will at least make sure that it's not made with corn syrup). Currently I like some of the Quaker brands, like Simple Harvest. I also bring a banana with me, as it's easy to dispose of and not crunchy. I'm used to just drinking water, but if what I bring doesn't seem to be enough, then I'll take one can of soda with me. But even so, it still skims off a lot of calories, fat, and excess carbs this way then giving into the popcorn and candy binge.
Good job..way to notice something you are doing wrong!! That is the key...noticing something and changing it! My "thing" is that I work 12 hours night shift and I am awake for 20 hours most of the time and I eat because I can't sleep!!! I am not sure how to change this..it is something I have been working on for 8 months now!! So go for it and change it!!!! 4313 days ago
