spot it and debunk it

What ever seed you plant in your mind, will grow. Don't want to plant, weeds - they run wild.
Just realised my constant thinking about my slower progress now, could possibly be overun with weeds. I need to pick out those pesky stragglers, like "Oh geez how hard can it be, I track my calories, watch my water, keep exercising - what gives? - oh right I have to be patient etc hang in there etc"
The plant I need to keep nutured is, this one: ( that you are practising your lifetime habits which you do as a matter of course each day) therefore be content to take each day as it comes and concentrate on the habits for the day. Don't focus on the scale and measurement tape.) This advice is good but actually practising it has been a battle for many sparkers. I have read a number of posts on it.
I am not at that space yet but know I will be-. I really want to get to the day when I cansay I have got to goal weight. (My first one - 133 pounds) Even if it is a pesky last 5 pounds to lose.
Sorry I feel like venting at the moment - healthy thing to do I hope.
Tomorrow is a new day and new thoughts can grow.

something different.
An interesting event happened at the shops the other day. Being over 50 I don't buy clothing that young people wear - used to go to stores which cater for the more mature women.
One such shop I went to had little clothing in my size, ie size 8 trousers. A comment the shopkeeper made was "We don't keep much at the extreme ends - ie size 8 and 20. I smiled ruefully to myself. Fancy being thought of as an extreme size!

hi Petaldear, I'm taking some time out from SP...but not time out from fitness etc...life at Uni just means I have to re-set life for a bit of time right now...I try really hard to keep positive even when there are minor stressors in my life.

I liked your blog. We do have to be positive or else we will become discouraged about how slow this process can be. But I think about how long I have been unhealthy and it is a lot longer than it has taken me to get to where I am. Also, if we try to do it too quickly we will not succeed and make this a lifestyle change. I do take it one day at a time and I think that is the best advice to live by. Good luck with your journey.

I took a self-hypnosis class once, and the instructor said we were to tell ourselves only positives. DON'T say "I will not overeat" - The brain hears "I will overeat" (it doesn't hear the "not") DO say "I will eat a healthy meal", or "I am satisfied with nutritious servings". ... I still find it hard to not negative-speak, even when I am trying to make positive statements.
