Guzzling Diet Coke

Friday, August 21, 2009

I went for a week without really drinking diet coke and then I had a craving and gave in. That was a really bad plan for me. I started drinking one and now have had four. Oh well. I have learned that you just pick up and start going again so cutting back is still alot better than giving up on even trying.

Soda is a weakness for me and I've fought the battle...won the battle...fought the battle so many times it is ridiculous! LOL I find my weight goes down easier when I'm off it completely. Not sure if it because it isn't soda I'm drinking or the fact that I'm replacing the liquid with water or iced tea! I am needing to cut back again severely so on goes the soda war!

Yeah, so don't cut it out completely. Allow yourself two a day; save them for special times. That's like me and fried food, avoid and avoid until all the sudden my car turns in at Long John Silver's for the crunchiest breadiest fare they have ....with a DIET coke, too! I love diet coke, but I just KNOW it's ripping up my intestines. You know what they say about the acid. oh well, baby steps is right. good luck, don't deprive yourself of things you love.

I can give up about anything except Diet Coke - but since it isn't the best thing for me, I just decided to try another approach.

I am going to setup a sparkpeople goal called Drink 2 or fewer cans of Coke. If I can get a streak going - I might change my goal to 1 can a day.

It didn't work for me to "wait till I could get to a gym" to start excersing but it worked to start walking a little at first and now a few miles a day. My current streak is about 25 days of walking.

I have been told that carbonation will add fluid to your body. Although I can't find any medical evidence to back that up. I don't like anything with carmmel coloring it but give me a diet orange soda and you have a friend for life.

I was a Diet Pepsi fan for many years and may still have one on occasion but with all the water I'm drinking, I'm never thirsty enough for one. The few times I've opened one, I ended up throwing most of it away. If this is a goal you want to meet, I wish you well in doing it and I know that you will find a way to accomplish it.

I have drank Diet Coke and now Zero for years. Just gave it up 3 weeks ago and haven't missed it a bit.

I do am a Diet Coke addict. It is pretty bad when one of the things your students remember about you is your Diet Coke habit. I have been trying to cut back as well, but it really helps me with the sweet cravings except it makes me more hungry. It isn't as big help as it seems.

EW...now that's one thing I can't stand is any drink diet. Just bitter to me. It's gotta be the whole caffeine load, man...LOL...and my thing is I have to make sure I stop drinkin' it after 7pm....or I'm awake ALL night when I get off work.

    Have a good one...
