What's keeping me on track this week?

Thursday, August 20, 2009

This is a hard blog to write. It has been a very hard week for my entire family.

While I was at work Sunday, I got a frantic phone call from my Sister, letting me know that our younger brother was suddenly deployed to the Middle East. We knew he was going to be leaving, but we were supposed to have a couple more weeks with him. We still don't know where he was actually sent. I'm hoping he can get a message to one of us soon.

Late Sunday night, I got a second frantic phone call. This one was from my Mother in law, letting me know that my Husband's Grandfather had passed away. My husband was at work, so I had the tough job of telling him when he got home Monday morning. He's not taking it well. His Grandfather was his hero.

So, what's keeping me track this week? I can't really say that I've been on track. I had a couple days where my calories were way too low. I had one day where I went on a major KFC binge. I think I ate enough fried chicken, and mashed potatoes to feed a small country.

I keep thinking of my brother. He's keeping me going. I can't wait until he steps off the plane, and sees a thinner me.

I heart goes out to you! My brother is in Iraq so I can relate to that part. It's hard and you never get over worrying. You are in my thoughts!

Your brother like many young men are very brave to serve our country over seas. Let us know how he is making out.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of your husbands grandfather. It isn't easy letting go of a loved one. We are still having trouble.

I do believe and keep repeating to myself that "God only gives us as much as we can handle" and the other part is "what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger".

I too have been to KFC. I am glad the Colonel was there in our time of need. The love and compassion he puts in his chicken is so comforting.

Hooray for the pound. Every pound adds up to bigger numbers. Don't be so hard on yourself when you have no control over the events in your life.

You have done really well this week despite all the garbage that was thrown your way - not in a weeks time but within about 12 hours! I commend you on handling things so well I would have been eating out KFC for the entire week. LOL

Keep focused on your goal and don't beat yourself up when you falter. Let us know instead and we'll do it for you . emoticon Then we will lift you up and sign your praises. emoticon Remember that no one is a rock all the time and everyone slips.

Good luck and let me know if you need to talk.

Bless your heart - what a week! I will be keeping your brother in my prayers - praying God will surround him with a band of angels to keep him safe from the enemy and that he will return home safe and sound.

Also - praying for your DH and the days ahead. It is very difficult to loose a loved one. Hope he keeps his memories close to his heart and celebrates the life that he had - not the death.

Take care and be Blessed. Sunny
