Weight Lifting Class in High School

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

This was a great class. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up. I didn't do any weight lifting while on vacation and when I came home I just didn't feel motivated. Most of what we did were the same moves I do at home but much more enjoyable with a group. I also was able to improve my form. I didn't realize that I was bending my wrist while doing Concentration curls. Another thing I liked was the stretching during the class and at the end. I used lighter than usual weights and will do so for the next class this week. We worked out for 90 minutes, which is longer than I do at home. All in all a very good experience and I'm happy that I joined. The teacher is very personable. She made suggestions for an alternate exercise if there was a problem, for example my knees, I'm not comfortable doing squats or lunges right now. This is a 5 week class and then in Sept we can sign up for the winter session which is about 10 weeks.

That's great. It is always so much easier for me when I do it with a class. I do make myself do it alone when I have to, but I don't enjoy it as well.

I am having a few problems with my knees too and am not doing any lunges or stuff either. It's not worth my knees!

How fun, I am glad you liked the class. And if you do winter too, you will be so ready for spring all toned and ready to play.
