The Story of The Phoenix

Egyptian mythological bird of red, gold and purple plumage, colors of the rising sun. The phoenix, symbolizing rebirth and resurrection, died in the fire of the funeral pyre, but arose from the ashes. “At the top of a palm tree a bird’s nest catches fire. It has been ignited by a spark struck from the hooves of celestial steeds drawing the chariot of Ra, the Egyptian sun god. Amid the flames a beautiful Arabian bird extends its golden neck and purple wings, but instead of flying off, it dances. Eventually, it is consumed by the fire and reduced to ashes…but this is not the end. Indeed, it is only the beginning-for five hundred years later a new bird is reborn from the ashes. It seals the remains of the nest in myrrh, wraps it in aromatic leaves, and molds it into the shape of an egg. It carries this as a sacred offering to the temple of the sun at Heliopolis, and then flies away to paradise. Five hundred years later it returns to earth, where it begins again the cycle of self-immolation and resurrection-a process that continues forever.”

Like the mythical Phoenix, the firebird, I have been reborn....

Upon closing the door to my old self (and life), I have been given the opportunity to begin again. Without a doubt, some of us never seize this prospect, and sadly, it is wasted. This is not my intention, however, I MUST MOVE FORWARD....

My grasp on tomorrow is steadfast and my hands are STRONG! I feel that I can accomplish anything now!!!! Each day, I am becoming more in tune with my self, and I have a clearer vision of who I want to become. That person is beautiful, brilliantly disciplined, full of life, courageous, optimistic, and fearless! She is ME.... (Oh YES, she is!)

So today, I can dance with peace and joy in my heart! My moves are unique, and prestigious! This brings about a sense of pride in myself that I have never felt before. I am SUCCEEDING!!!!

Good luck reaching your goals too, dear SPARK FRIENDS!
And always remember.... (((((I BELIEVE IN YOU)))))

I'm reading about the Phoenix and thinking...my water aerobics instructor likens me to the space shuttle taking off. I joke with her and say, just as long as it's not Challenger that you compare me with, I'm ok with that!

Wow, rock on with your bad self! You are doing great and it is wonderful to hear you so optimistic. One of the great things about life is that we can always start over and try again.
