An interesting evening

Friday, August 14, 2009

Yesterday was a very interesting evening, and one I would rather not repeat. I went out for my usual walk, and on my return trip, I noticed my eyes were starting to burn. By the time I made it home, I was having trouble breathing, I was having trouble swallowing, and my eyes were tearing up bad. I went to the bathroom, and I was shocked to see myself in the mirror! I was scary enough that my wife called 911. I was transported to the hospital, administered epinephrin and benedryl intraveneously. I was in the emergency room from7:30 to about 10:30, and administerd more Benedryl and Zantac as well. The bottom line is, I now have to carry an epi pen with me wherever I go. What caused the allergic reaction is unknown at this time, but it will NOT keep me from walking. I intend to stay on the fit and healthy. This is just a setback. Thanks for reading my rant!

Spark ya later!

Glad to here that your ok! Some people develope allergies late in life. Have you thought of getting checked for allergies just to be on the safe side? Hope all is well and you're still out enjoying your walks! Have a great weekend!

Whoa! When I saw your blog, I realized how lucky you were! I hope you are better and remain well. As someone mentioned earlier, you might consider changing your route for walking. But I don't blame you---keep walking somewhere.

Good heavens! Maybe you got bit by a tiny spider or bee or something without realizing it. That was a short ER stay too, where'd you end up going? Most ER visits are longer than that. That was a blessing.

    Woooaah, scary.

Might be an idea to change your walking route at least for a while, till the seasons change and the allergen is reduced!

Seems it all went OK once you were in hospital, so thank goodness for that!

    Keep Sparkin'!
