It was a challenge today...

I think what challenged me most today was my back - it hasn't really been healthy for 10 years now, and it's one of the first things in the morning that put a stop to exercise. I did try some stretching exercises and they helped initially, but by the time I go to work, it was just sore - and not the good kind you feel after a workout - the stressed kind. What I think I really needed to do was my body scan exercise, but instead I went for a walk during lunch to go pick up my new reading glasses - ahhh...the joys of age. Although, to be honest, I've needed glasses since high school for reading and my eyes really aren't that bad. It just sounds like a good excuse sometimes.

But there is one thing I know that has helped my back in the past, but after I got pregnant I let it fall away, and that was doing pilates. I have one video of beginner pilates exercises, and reading today's blog about touching toes ( www.dailyspark.com/blog.

) reminded me about my own efforts at pilates and how great it made me feel. After I sign off here, I'm going to go find that video and have it ready for the morning (can't do it now because the room where the TV is is currently being occupied by a rather large castle and knights preparing for battle).

Besides, while they're battle, I can do a few strength training exercises in my room. Have a great night, everyone!
