Yippee....riding on a high!

Yes, i really feel this way these last few days.

Monday i took my husband to write his exam for CCNA certification. (Networking)

He has been off work and studying fulltime at home for over 6 months now. I think he was really getting to the point of burnout having to learn so much in such a short..yet seemingly LONG period of time.

He did his first attempt at end of May and got 75% at that time ( needs 82% to pass)

Monday he did his 2nd crack at it after an additional 2 and a half months of study....and HE DID IT!....87% !!!

I was sooo proud of him that i told him we were going out for dinner...his choice. I only mentioned it should be somewhere different to make it more memorable, as we generally go to east side marios or swiss chalet.

Well....he chose THE MANDARIN! Oh my, i ate at the Mandarin Chinese about 10 years ago, but crazily enough have never been back. (Mostly due to cost, we usually chose a more affordable buffet).

So, there we went to the Mandarin. I was quite hungry i must say, and even more hungry once we passed by the buffet on our way to being seated.

It was so lovely, the atmosphere, the service, and as many of you would know, the food was fabulous.

I knew right then and there that this would be a 'cheater meal", but i tried to not go hog wild!

I did have 2 medium sized plates of hot food, and made sure to load up on cooked veggie dishes...not just the breaded bad foods, though i did have a small portion of them too! (one chicken ball, one breaded lemon chicken and a spring roll)

Then came time for dessert. I tried to behave , but must admit i went a bit overboard. I had 2 saucers of different delectable desserts. I stoped myself at that point, though i could've tested every dessert there..believe me!

By the time we arrived back home it was 750pm. I intended to relax around the house, then hit the sack.

I'm not sure what come over me, but suddenly i thought..."i need to get a workout in before bed!", as i knew if i did not, all of that food would just sleep with me. So, off i went to the gym, did 45mins of cardio, some stretches, and even a quick hot tub.

I felt wonderful afterward, and slept like a baby (a baby that sleeps soundly that is!) knowing that i had done myself proud.
