Am I Really Back?

Saturday, August 08, 2009

Hi everyone... hope things are going okay for all of you.

I have a confession to make.. I really have slipped off the exercise bandwagon. I found myself really busy with 2 part-time jobs and it seemed easier and easier to postpone my workout session. My stamina levels stayed high for a good few months.. but lately they are dipping again. I get exhausted very easily these days. And I am avoiding the scale like the plague. I have no idea what I weigh but I suspect the picture ain't good.

But besides that, I am happy and thankful to say that we as a household have stayed pretty much on the healthy eating bandwagon. We found that the healthier we were eating the more eating out seemed unpalatable to us. As the lists of restaurants that we frequent started to dwindle (because most places don't serve healthy food), eating at home became more of a necessity to us. Don't get me wrong, we love to eat out, but when you are limited to either the restaurant that cuts out MSG or the local Chinese that uses fresh ingredients (and will also omit MSG upon request); eating out seems a bit boring now. Also why pay for a salad that doesn't use organic veggies (and doesn't taste as good) when I can prepare an organic one at home for the same price?

Yes we are slowly moving towards organic foods. The steep prices are a deterrent, but I found that organic salads cost the same as non-organic. And organic tomatoes are to die for!! The taste of organic veggies are really in a league of their own. We are not totally organic, but we try to go as organic as we can afford.

So yes must steadily try to get back on track again. Wish me luck?

Thanks Muslimah05! I guess it is easier when everyone in the house wants to eat healthy. I must try harder with the exercise.. and definitely on the water consumption! Thanks again for the great article on your blog on keeping hydrated. :)

I agree... if your still eating healthy you never left. It's actually much harder to change your eating habits than it is to start up a exercise plan. And sticking to it is even harder. SO Kudos girl... Your doing a great job. Keep it up! emoticon

Thanks for the encouragement UmFiona, amiin that all of us, and myself especially, keep on trying! I actually tried to start my own organic garden patch a while back, but that idea was soon out of the window, alongside my exercise plans! LOL.

Man my writing seems stilted now. Just goes to show that I need to be posting a lot more often! *grin*

One of my favorite things to say about the weightloss journey is that so long as you're still trying, you're making progress! I do wish you all the luck in the world on your exercise routine. And I am right there with you on the organic stuff, the taste is 200% better than the stuff at the 'regular' grocery store. But, yeah, the steep prices are a bit of a deterrant. LOL
