10 lb Challenge ~ August (Day 8)

Saturday, August 08, 2009

I'm in Florida and it's HOT!!! I've been keeping to my diet pretty well...with my only "problem day" being my 12 hour trip south. That day, I ate a WHOLE bag of chocolate flavored Chex Mix at the tune of 1000 calories along with my normal meals. I just couldn't drive without some yummy snacks!

Today I jogged 3 miles and walked one mile. It was really hot because I started at 9am. Yesterday I started at 10am. Tomorrow, I think I'll either wait until the night time or start at 8am.

We'll see!!!

Well, I hope that everyone else is doing well! I haven't gotten on the scale yet, but we'll see what happens when I get home Tuesday...

Thanks for your supprt :)

Traveling is one of my worst snacking times. I've yet to stay on track on days I've had long drives or flights. Maybe one day...haha. You tried though and you're working out too so I wouldn't worry about it at all! Sometimes it just happens! How long are you down there for?

one day of bad snacks will not ruin your changes!

    You will meet your goals!

I like red vine licorice for traveling. When I feel like I need to eat a lot, I take 10 minutes and chew really really really slow

I know what you mean. I live in FL too and if you wait to see the sun, you're scorched! I'm planning a run in the morning - when hubby gets home from night shift - 5:30 am - nice & cool!

I've been falling prey to that car eating thing lately too! I don't know what it is, I drive to Reno every weekend to see my BF, and just want to munch on the way...but then if I don't, I'm really hungry when I get here, and tend to munch away...I think it's a good idea to plan ahead on that, and bring something pre-portioned that fits in the meal plan.

I've also been trying out the early morning runs, (at 5am though) it's so nice and cool that time of day it's so much nicer than in the heat.

It's hard to drive for a long time and not graze on junk food. I like to pack some pre-measured nuts and cut up veggies, along with some trail mix with some chocolate chips thrown in for something sweet. Have a great time in FL!
