I'm back!

Friday, August 07, 2009

Well, this is the third day of my seven day vacation and I started it out with Jillian Michaels' 30-day shred. Now mind you I haven't exercised in months. I've had a number of health challenges this year, including two medical procedures, so it hasn't been the best year for exercising. Surprisingly, I was able to keep up for the most part but those jumping jacks, wow, that girl was not joking! Overall I am proud of the job I did and I feel so much better after working out. I just want to go do more but I know I can't overdo it.

I'm trying not to make a big deal about getting back into a healthier routine, though. I had another major setback when I went to register for Weight Watchers yesterday and decided not to do it. Every time I go to register with them there's a problem. Having a flexible health spending account hasn't always been to my advantage in trying to use that benefit to work with them and yesterday was no exception. After having psyched up myself to go back again, which I had been working towards for several weeks, I was utterly disappointed when there was another obstacle. As upset as I was I took it as the clue that going to their meetings is not what is going to make me be successful. After following their plans off and on for 13 years I know I can use the same principles to have success and being in the medical field I know what I should be doing so I will just do it. While I do like the accountability of going to weigh in at WW it has been a hassle for quite some time to go in and frankly contributed to my overall dissatisfaction. And to be frank when I lost 50 pounds previously it wasn't on WW but by watching what I was eating and getting rigorous exercise. I think I'm going to look for some accountability partners to give me the motivation to stay strong and working toward my goals. I think for my success I'll need the support at home and at work and of course here.

Well, I have my grocery list of some great foods to buy and will be going to the store soon. I had a BBQ party a few days ago for my daughter's birthday so most of the food here aren't the best choices so off to the store I go!

Welcome back. I haven't even thought about doing the 30 day shred yet, I tried it before and those jumping jacks are a killer. I've used WW over the years but also used the online method as well. It's cheaper than going to meetings and you can sign up for a 3 month membership for like $60 (estimate). But I also think you have the knowledge of the program and you can use that and accomplish another 50 pound loss with the help of all those you've mentioned. We're all here to support you along the way. As my blog stated today - we need each other.
