Today marks my official 2 weeks on Sparkpeople.com! See, I'm a goal oriented kinda gal and 2 weeks is a mile stone. I like mile stones. And lists. and office supplies to make lists and check off mile stones... you see where I'm going with this, I'm sure. So I decided I needed some specific checkpoints along my weight loss journey to keep me on track:

5. 115lbs by 11/23
1. New measuring cups and spoons.
2. Buy myself Fit Flops.
3. A 90 minute massage
4. Membership to the swank gym I have my eye on!
5. All new clothes!!!

You can see that I went with both scale goals and activity goals to keep me motivated. I know that I'm going to hit a bump or two along my way and I see that most likely coming from the scale side of things. The scale may mess with me during my TOM or fat to muscle conversion or another random plateau I can't foresee, but the activity goals can be controlled more directly and will keep me going to get my presents! I really like presents :D
What I learned from today's exercise is that I have frequently used food as a treat to myself for life's triumphs. It took me about 5 minutes to think of and type my goals; it took me the next 85 minutes to come up with non-food related rewards. I kept wanting to type Starbucks Mocha or Ice Cream Cone or pizza night etc. I really want to stop looking at food as anything other than fuel for my machine, and that's a tricky goal to quantify. In 6 months, I want to go through this plan again and see if I have an easier time of it.
