Judy in a Faculty Talent Show

Tuesday, August 04, 2009

Our high school made a commitment to raise enough money to build a school in Africa ($8500). One of the fundraisers was a talent show, and I was only one of three faculty members to participate. This was the first (and likely the last) time I've ever been in one. My other colleagues have real talent: one is an excellent guitar player, the other an actress and singer. Me? No talent, so I had to invent something.

Pay attention to our emcee, Stephano, who is from the Dominican Republic. He's not only very bright, but one of the most sophisticated and polite 16-year-olds I've ever encountered. I'm convinced he'll be a U.S. Senator one day.

Oh...I've lost 16 pounds since the talent show, so I am very pleased. The dress I'm wearing needs altering.

This is wonderful! I'm so behind on Sparkpeople and just found this. My favorite song and I laughed so hard because you put so much feeling into it! Bet that talent show was a complete success! Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic! I was worried about what would come out of that dress next! You colleagues may have talent but I bet it didn't equal your sense of humor.
