How many 1st days do we get?

Tuesday, August 04, 2009

o.k.... so.. here I am again.... another 1st day... right!
I am unable to stay on track long enough to make it thru 1 week of eating clean. What is wrong with me?
Yeah I want to look hot and be able to wear nice clothes without looking like a stuffed sausage... but the real thing for me is my heart. My Dad had heart surgery a few years ago and I am determined NOT to have a surgeon touch my heart someday! sooo.. why am I sabotaging myself? emoticon

So here I go again.. tomorrow is a new day blah, blah, blah....
" Just for today I am going to eat clean, for me and my heart"

Oh my--did this hit me right where I needed it. I, too, have had a number of 1st days. But as Silvia said, you can't fail if you don't quit. We'll get this done!

Are you trying to follow the Tosca Reno Eating Clean philosphy. I just bought 3 of her books the other day and am looking forward to using it to getting rid of my last 10 pounds. I read a motivation article a while back which said that we have motivate ourselves daily ( in a way we find suits us) to keep to our commitments and goals. I found that helpful to keep me going. At the beginning I had to fight many impulses to eat stuff that wasn't planned but I used water, green tea and posting on SP to ward them off. OVer time this gets easier and you start enjoying clean food in your body and your body speaks back to you. I know it certainly used to get mad at me in the post when I overloaded on fats, carbs and sugars - I got headaches, bloating, lethargy and all the rest. Never want to go back to that ever, for any price.

Take it a day at a time, because we have good ones and bad ones.

Don't focus so much what you did wrong , but what you did right.

Take baby steps, like drinking water, getting in the fruits and veggies.

Just hang in there you can't fail if you don't quit!
