I have had so many things happening in my life in the past 2 weeks that I have to share my blessings!
1st and foremost, on July 29th, I woke up in Grand Island, Nebraska. This is a city more than 2 1/2 hours away from my home, but I got back in town and to the hospital in plenty of time to watch my precious new baby grand daughter come into the world. It was pouring rain all the way home, but I made it home safely. It took over 3 hours, but I made it.
I watched as my son became a father for the 1st time and it was priceless. He is such a remarkable young man and I am very proud to have him as my Son and to be his mother.
I came to a time where I had to go back to work. I have been off work since June 2006, but with the economy the way it is, financially, we just couldn't afford it anymore. so I interviewed with 2 different companies. The 1st company told me there was no way they could pay me what I was asking for, so I accepted the 2nd company's offer. Although it too was much less than I have made at a job in 15 years, I had no choice but to take it as I needed some kind of income coming in. It too was way less than I was asking for, but again, I really had no choice. So the day after I accepted the position, I was in my 1st day of training. 2 days later I got a call from the other company's director of operations telling me that she couldn't stop thinking about me, and there must be something she could find within the company for me. She told me she would keep my resume on her desk till she did and it could take 30 - 90 days, but she would continue to try to find something for me that I could accept. 2 days later she called me (actually, as I was driving home and to the hospital). Asking if I could meet with her the following day. So after being at the hospital over night and getting only 1 hour sleep I met with her and she offered me $17,000 more than I was making and the position would be local. I couldn't ask for more. I start Monday!
As I was out of town training for the 1st job, I was worried about gaining weight. As my job is managing restaurants, I am always around food. It is really easy to pick in that situation, but I tried to be good and remember that everything I put in my mouth adds up on the bottom line with my calorie totals. As I didn't have my laptop with me that 1st week, I had to wait until the end of each day to add my food calories up. So I wasn't sure how I was doing until it was possibly done, so it was a scary time for me. I am happy to share that when I got home, I weighed in and had lost a total of 6lbs while I was gone! UNBELIEVABLE
New baby, new job, and working on a new body/new me! I AM Truly Blessed!
